This Privacy Policy describes how Shukri Digital Solutions ("we", "us", "our") collects, uses, stores, and protects personal information when you use the VidyaGate mobile application and related services (the "Service") available at https://vidyagate.shukridigisol.in.
VidyaGate is a school management platform. Schools that subscribe to our Service are primarily responsible for student records. We process data on behalf of schools and provide access to authorized parents, teachers, and school staff.
1. Information we collect
1.1 Information you provide
- Account data: name, mobile number, email address, login credentials, role (parent, teacher, staff).
- Parent/guardian data: contact details linked to enrolled students.
- Student-related data: as entered by the school — name, class, section, roll number, admission number, photo, attendance, fees, academic records.
- Support communications: messages you send to our support team.
1.2 Information collected automatically
- Device information: device type, operating system, app version, language.
- Push notification tokens: device identifiers used to deliver notifications (via OneSignal and Firebase).
- Log data: IP address, access times, pages or API endpoints used, error logs.
- Usage data: features used within the app to improve reliability and security.
1.3 Information we do not knowingly collect from children directly
Student data is provided by schools and authorized guardians. We do not knowingly allow children under 13 to create accounts without school and parental authorization. See our Child Safety & Student Data Policy.
2. How we use information
- Provide and operate the Service (attendance, fees, communication, school records).
- Authenticate users and enforce role-based access.
- Send push notifications about attendance, fees, announcements, and school updates.
- Improve app performance, security, and user experience.
- Comply with legal obligations and respond to lawful requests.
- Provide customer support.
3. Legal basis (India)
We process personal data in accordance with applicable Indian law, including the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 (DPDP Act), based on:
- Performance of our contract with schools and users.
- Legitimate interests in operating a secure educational platform.
- Consent where required (e.g., push notifications, optional features).
- Compliance with legal obligations.
4. Sharing of information
We do not sell personal information. We may share data with:
- Schools: your enrolled school receives and controls student academic data.
- Service providers: hosting, cloud storage (Cloudflare R2), push notifications (OneSignal), analytics/infrastructure (Google Firebase), only as needed to operate the Service.
- Legal authorities: when required by law, court order, or to protect rights and safety.
5. Data retention
We retain data while your account is active and as required by the school’s policies and applicable law. When an account is deleted, we remove or anonymize personal data within 30 days unless retention is required for legal, accounting, or school record-keeping purposes. See Account Deletion.
6. Security
We use industry-standard measures including encrypted connections (HTTPS), access controls, role-based permissions, and secure cloud storage. No method of transmission over the internet is 100% secure; we continuously work to protect your information.
7. Your rights
Depending on applicable law, you may have the right to:
- Access and review your personal data.
- Correct inaccurate data.
- Request deletion of your account (subject to school record requirements).
- Withdraw consent for optional processing (e.g., push notifications via device settings).
- Lodge a complaint with the relevant data protection authority in India.

8. International transfers
Our service providers may process data on servers located outside India. Where this occurs, we ensure appropriate safeguards consistent with applicable law.

10. Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will post the revised policy on this page and update the "Last updated" date. Continued use of the Service after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
