Account Deletion Policy
1. Overview
You may request deletion of your VidyaGate user account and associated personal data. This page explains how to submit a request, what is deleted, and what may be retained.
2. Who can request deletion
- Parents/guardians: may request deletion of their app login and linked parent profile.
- Teachers/staff: may request deletion of their app login; employment records may remain with the school.
- School administrators: should contact us for school-wide offboarding.
Student records (marks, attendance history, admission files) are controlled by the school under applicable education laws. Deleting a parent app account does not automatically delete official school records. Contact your school for student record requests.
3. How to request deletion
Choose any one method:
Method A — Email (recommended)
- Send an email to primematrimony@gmail.com
- Subject line: Account Deletion Request — VidyaGate
- Include: full name, registered mobile number, school name, and role (parent/teacher)
- We may verify identity before processing
Method B — Through your school
Ask your school administrator to deactivate your account from the school panel. The school may submit a bulk deletion request on your behalf.
Method C — In-app (when available)
Future app versions may include Settings → Delete Account. Until then, use Method A or B above.
4. What we delete
- User login credentials and authentication tokens
- Parent/guardian profile linked to your account
- Push notification device tokens
- App preferences and session data
- Mobile API access tokens
5. What we may retain
- School-managed student academic records (attendance, fees, reports) — retained per school policy and law
- Transaction and audit logs required for security, fraud prevention, or legal compliance (up to 7 years where required)
- Anonymized analytics that cannot identify you
- Data already shared with the school — contact the school for their retention policy
6. Processing timeline
We aim to complete verified deletion requests within 30 days. You will receive email confirmation when deletion is complete or if we need additional information.
7. Cancelling a deletion request
If you change your mind before processing completes, reply to our confirmation email within 7 days to cancel the request.
